Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you’ll play an important role in the growth of Sales Readiness Group (SRG). To be successful, you’ll need to be passionate about sales and sales training, thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, and be extremely proactive. The successful candidate will be a proven sales professional with a history of consistently meeting/exceeding new client acquisition targets. He or she will target key accounts and industry verticals and build relationships with key decision makers, and be able to manage the sales process from first appointment to close. The BDM will meet or exceed quarterly goals for new client acquisition.

  • Work to be performed onsite at SRG corporate office, Mercer Island, WA and in the field as required.
  • Some travel required


The successful candidate will:

  • Work with Marketing team to target and open new accounts in specified regions and vertical industries
  • Utilize internet search and social media tools to research target accounts and identify key decision makers
  • Utilize personal network, social media and content marketing to create interest and nurture potential prospects
  • Schedule acquisition meetings and qualify prospects for further discussion
  • Prepare Solution Presentations for key influencers and decision makers
  • Price solutions and create proposals
  • Negotiate and close business


The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • 3+ years outbound sales and/or target account sales experience
  • Consistent track record of opening target accounts and exceeding new client acquisition goals
  • Ability to create prospecting scripts and target account messaging
  • Deep knowledge of selling skills and sales process
  • History selling training or consulting services is highly desirable
  • Strong social media presence and an understanding of social selling approach
  • Familiarity with content marketing, CRM and automated selling tools
  • Ability to understand client needs and present complex solutions
  • Experience selling into Mid Market and Enterprise accounts
  • Strong active listening, communication and presentation skills
  • High level of initiative, and proven ability to work independently
  • Availability to travel
